This journal grew out of years of carrying notebooks on walks: writing down what I heard before I looked, sketching what I couldn't name, pressing leaves between pages I'd return to later. It's the kind of companion I wished I had when I started paying attention to birds. So I made one.

This journal is for slow walkers: people who want to be present with what's already there, rather than seeking a particular experience.
Each entry begins with a listening cue: a small instruction to attend to sound before anything else. From there, a reflection prompt invites you to notice what's happening in your body, not just the landscape around you.
You don't need to know the birds. You don't need to identify the plants. The journal works whether you use it once a week on a long walk, or for five minutes by an open window.
